在推出Windows Mobile 6.1之后，所有人都认为微软公司下一步推出的将会是Windows Mobile 7。但是实际情况并不是这样的，根据报道微软公司下一款手机操作系统官方正式命名为Windows Mobile 6.5。 在过去数日里，已经出现了许多有关Windows Mobile 6.5传言，不过就是日前微软现任首席执行官史蒂夫·鲍尔默表示新的操作系统将会在2009年推出，紧跟Windows Mobile 7之后。
不过遗憾的是鲍尔默先生并没有提及Windows Mobile 6.5会为我们带来什么新功能。
